Highlights

Paper in PRE (2004) by Panov et al was reprinted by Virtual Journal of NanoScience and Technology of the American Institute of Physics.  Paper in PRL(2004) by Merkel et al was selected as the highlight of the December 3 2004 PRL issue, whereas the paper in J. Phys D (2004) by Power et al was selected as one of the ten highlights of the Journal of Physics D for the year 2004.

  • Wide band dielectric spectroscopy: This includes a Novocontrol System, and HP 4191A: 5Hz to 13 MHz, HP 4192A: 1MHz-1GHz, HP4291B: 1MHz to 1.8GHz and the appropriate dielectric cells, cryostats and wide temperature control.

  • Electro-optic spectroscopic set-up.

  • Non-linear dielectric set-up that incorporates locking-amplifier.

  • Three Polarising Microscopic set-ups with their own heating stages, temperature controllers.

  • Dynamic pyroelectric effect set-up.

  • Bio-Rad FTIR 6000A FTIR spectrometer with the facility of time-resolution down to 0.1 µs and a BioRad IR microscope.
  • PerkinElmer Lambda 900 UV/Vis/NIR spectrometer (wavelength range - 175-3300 nm).

  • Access to Raman Laser Spectometer.

  • Basic Device/Cell Fabrication facilities, Spin-coating, Furnaces, UV radiation for photocontrollable alignment, vacuum furnace.
