I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering in Trinity. My main area of research is in the field of telecommunications which I carry out in CTVR. CTVR is a multi-disciplinary research centre, headquarted in Trinity College and based in five other universities and institutions around Ireland. Here in Trinity we have a large group focusing on wireless and optical networks. My work in particular focsues on cognitive radio, reconfigurable networks, advanced spectrum regimes and spectrum trading among other topics. We have a strong interest in bringing our ideas through from concept to real implementations. Details of the research and publications can be found at http://www.ctvr.ie/en.
I am also very interested in Art & Technology and have a number of students pursuing Ph.Ds in this area. The students come from non engineering backgrounds and bring a very different perspective to the technical world.
