I currently hold the SFI Lectureship in Digital Media Systems in the School of Engineering, Trinity College Dublin. I previously worked as a Research Fellow with the Sigmedia group from 2005-2008. I returned to academia in 2004, initially working in University College Dublin on blind source separation, and then as a Research Associate Academic in McMaster University in Canada, researching enhanced frequency shaping of speech for hearing aids. Before this, I worked with the high-tech start-up Massana Ltd (now Agere Systems) as Principal DSP Systems Engineer. I was also co-founder of Jaynta Ltd, a DSP Systems consultancy. I received my primary degree in Electronic Engineering from Trinity College in 1995 and hold a PhD from The Queen's University of Belfast in Continuous Speech Recognition. A brief CV is here.
